Posted: Saturday 14th 2016

For the 9th year, the West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards were held last night in Birmingham at the ICC to celebrate this years’ regional construction highlights.

As one of Sandwell Councils project delivery partners we were proud to be shortlisted with them in three award categories:

BIM Project of the Year – for the West Midlands Community BIM Framework

Integration & Collaborative Working Award – for the West Midlands Community BIM Framework

Innovation Award - Black Country LEP alongside the 4 Black Country local authorities; Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Walsall & Dudley - Ontrack WM

This year's Awards were presented at a high profile dinner on Friday 13th May 2016. More than six hundred leaders & innovators from across the construction sector gathered at the ICC, Birmingham, to celebrate the very best industry projects.

Co-hosted by Acivico Limited, the Built Environment Hub & the Chartered Institute of Building's (CIOB) West Midlands branch, the event incorporated WM7's ‘Built in Quality Awards’ & the Built Environment Hub's ‘Constructing Excellence Awards’.

After a wonderful dinner, catching up with old friends & meeting new ones, it was time for the BAFTA style ceremony to start!

How Did We Get On?

We were runner up in the BIM Project of the Year Award & Innovation Award category. The Innovation Award for the work we are doing to develop a platform for Midlands businesses to come together & showcase their services to HS2 & the BIM Project of the Year for the West Midlands Community BIM Framework.

However, we were announced as WINNER of the Integration & Collaborative Working Award! This was for all of the great work we are doing with the construction industry to develop their awareness of BIM & how their business needs solutions to be able to deliver this now & in the future.
